Today is the auspicious occasion of Diwali, an eagerly awaited occasion for most.
While we continue to celebrate diwali each year with increasing revelry and excitement we sometimes forget about the cons of the actions we take.
The diyas lit in Diwali symbolize the end of darkness and the beginning of new dawn and a brighter future. So why don't we take a minute to ponder about how our incessant bursting of firecrackers on Diwali adversely affects others and our lives.
So what will you do if your not bursting firecrackers? Here are a few suggestions for this day:
1. Bonding : Diwali is one of the few occasions in the year where all your loved ones are around. Why don't you spend some time talking to them about their challenges and yours, nothing like a warm heartful conversation with your loved ones.
2. Support Local Craftmanship: In a country like ours , the livelihood of many clay artisans is barely easy and on the verge of abandonment. We should try to buy diyas, home decor etc from local artisans thus boosting their ability to sustain their livelihood.
3. Encourage Creativity: Design Patterns in Software and Rangoli,Sound poles apart?
Many do not realize the intricacies involved in creating the fairly complex designs of a rangoli.Using a set of dots a complex set of patterns is created,a couple of patterns are internalized by using them in creative ways.
This is what we call Design Patterns in Software.
Wishing you all a Happy and prosperous Diwali!
